When a generation doesn’t come out the way you wanted, the thumbs-down button on it says Diagnose & Fix. It opens the Agent chat, asks what went wrong, works out the most likely cause, and offers to fix it and try again. The credits that output cost come back as soon as the Agent has a diagnosis, whether the generator got it wrong or your input did, up to a monthly limit.

Before you start

Diagnose & Fix is for images and videos you generated yourself on the Create page, and each output can be diagnosed once. In the preview, the button dims and reads Already diagnosed after you’ve used it; in the feed it still reads Diagnose & Fix, but clicking it tells you the output was already diagnosed. Diagnosing an output shares it, along with what you write about it, with the Kive team so we can fix what caused it. Generations made inside an Agent chat, and generations your teammates made, keep the regular Report issue button instead. On your own Agent-chat generations, it opens a form that asks what you expected and what went wrong, then sends your feedback to the Kive team; it’s reviewed automatically and refunds the credits unless the review rejects it. Only the person who made a generation can report it, so for a teammate’s generation, ask them to send the report.

Steps

1

Open Diagnose & Fix

Hover the output in your generation feed, or open it in the preview, and click the thumbs-down button. From the feed, the output opens and the chat starts beside it.

2

Say what went wrong

The Agent asks what’s off and what you were hoping for instead. Answer both in one message, and be specific: “the label reads VIIBR, it should read RMBR” tells it far more than “it looks wrong”. If your answer is too vague, the Agent asks for the missing detail and files nothing until it can diagnose.
3

Read the likely cause

The Agent explains in one sentence what might have caused the result, then shows the part of your request it came from — Your prompt, Your reference image, Your product photo or Your settings. It’s the likely cause, not a verdict, so treat it as a starting point.

4

Send the fix

Do what the Agent asks for: a clearer prompt, a sharper reference image, a better photo on your product or character model, a different setting, or the detail the result was missing. When the generator was at fault there’s nothing for you to do, and the Agent goes straight to offering a rerun.
5

Confirm the regenerate

The Agent asks whether to try the fix and shows a card with the cost. Click Regenerate to run it, or Skip to stop there. Nothing is generated until you click.

What happens to your credits

Every diagnosis the Agent completes refunds that output’s credits straight away, no matter whose fault it was, as long as your workspace hasn’t used up its monthly refund limit. The chat shows a note for it — “Refunded 5 credits for this image.” You never need to ask support for it. There’s a limit on how much a workspace gets refunded this way each month: one fifth of your plan’s monthly credits, counting both Diagnose & Fix and Report issue refunds. If less of the limit is left than the output cost, you get back what’s left. Once you reach it, the chat says “This month’s refund limit is reached, so this one wasn’t refunded” and the Agent carries on helping you fix the generation. The limit resets at the start of the next calendar month. The rerun is a new generation and costs its normal price, which the confirmation card shows before you click Regenerate. It makes one output, and like any generation it isn’t guaranteed to land the fix.

Tips

Tip: Describe the result, not your disappointment. The specific thing that’s wrong — the wrong word on a label, the product that’s missing, the wrong aspect ratio — is what the Agent diagnoses against. Tip: If the cause is a photo on a product or character model, update that model before rerunning. The fix then applies to every future generation that uses it, not just this one.
