How to put your product on a black background

1

Start from a photo

Click "Start from a photo" and pick a PNG or JPG of any size. The cutout runs in your browser, so the image is never uploaded to a server.

2

Keep the black fill

Black (#000000) is already selected once the background is gone. Swap it for any other colour with the swatches or the picker.

3

Download the result

Download a PNG with the background already composited in, ready for a listing, a deck or an ad.

When a black background is the right call

Black is the ground brands reach for when the product should look expensive. It removes every competing highlight, so glass, metal and glossy plastic keep their reflections and the eye goes straight to the shape. Fragrance, spirits, watches and audio hardware are photographed this way for exactly that reason.

Works for

Reflective and translucent products, premium positioning, campaign frames and any hero image that will sit on a dark page. Pale and metallic products gain the most.

Watch out for

Dark products lose their silhouette. A black bottle, a navy garment or a matte black gadget needs a rim of light or a lighter ground — dark navy keeps the mood without swallowing the edge.
