Kive Skills, Ideas and Agent video edits change what you hand Kive at the start: a job, a finished image to borrow from, or a video you already have, instead of a blank prompt. Skills run a set workflow for one deliverable, Ideas let you remix a ready-made photo or ad with your product, and the Agent now cuts video without regenerating it. All three shipped between late September and mid-October 2026.

## Key takeaways

- Nine Skills are live at kive.ai/skills, from Marketplace Listing to Inspect & Fix, each running the agent through one job's steps.
- Skills have no separate price: credits pay only for generated media, and Skill pages run free image demos, two a day, without an account.
- An Idea is a finished photo, look or ad you remix with your product; the Agent keeps its composition, framing, light and mood.
- Video trims, joins, speed changes, loops and end cards cost 0 credits because the Agent edits existing footage instead of regenerating it.
- Basic costs $40 a month for 2,000 credits; the Free plan gives 40 credits on email verification and one free image every 30 minutes.

## Skills: describe the job, the agent runs the steps

Skills are ready-made workflows the Kive agent runs for one specific job, from marketplace listing sets to localized ads. Describe the job and the agent picks the Skill.

Type "Amazon images for this cap" and Marketplace Listing starts, asking only what it can't read from your photo or message. Nine Skills are public at [kive.ai/skills](https://kive.ai/skills):

| Skill | What you get | Use it when | Skip it when |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Marketplace Listing](https://kive.ai/skills/marketplace) | A rule-compliant main image plus supporting shots | You sell on Amazon, Etsy or Shopify | No marketplace or listing is involved |
| [Catalog Lookbook](https://kive.ai/skills/catalog-lookbook) | One model and one look across every product | You shoot a collection or seasonal drop | You need a single product shot |
| [Ad Creative](https://kive.ai/skills/ad-creative) | Ads with headline, logo or offer in the artwork | Words have to sit inside the image | The image has no text, or the ad is a video |
| [Meta Ad Formats](https://kive.ai/skills/meta-ad-formats) | One ad in 1:1, 4:5 and 9:16, inside the safe area | You need every Meta placement | You have no finished ad yet |
| [Variations & Formats](https://kive.ai/skills/variations) | Approved images in new sizes, scene untouched | Only the size or crop changes | You want a new scene or different content |
| [Localize for Market](https://kive.ai/skills/localize) | The same ad in another language, local cast optional | A working campaign moves to a new market | You want new copy in the original language |
| [Create character](https://kive.ai/skills/create-character) | A reusable face or mascot for images and video | One person must appear in many shoots | You need one person in one scene |
| [Plan Video Scenes](https://kive.ai/skills/video-scenes) | A scene plan you approve before generation | You know the message, not the shots | You have an exact prompt for one clip |
| [Inspect & Fix](https://kive.ai/skills/inspect-fix) | One flaw fixed without redoing the shot | One detail of a result is off | You want a different image |

### How Skills fit together

A Skill hands off to the next when the job changes shape: an approved Ad Creative goes straight into Meta Ad Formats (the full chain is in our [Meta ad sizes guide](/learn/meta-ad-sizes)). A Studio sets the look; a Skill sets the steps to a deliverable and can use your Studios. [Etsy listing photo sizes](/learn/etsy-listing-photo-size) puts Marketplace Listing against each platform's rules.

Skills have no separate price; you pay credits only for what they generate. Skill pages run free image demos without an account: two runs a day per visitor across all Skills, with a refinement before you sign up to keep the results. You can't build your own Skills yet – the Kive team makes them.

## Ideas: start from a finished image, then add your product

Ideas is a feed of ready-made product photos, looks and ads on your workspace home page. Pick one, add your product, and the Agent recreates the image with it: composition, framing, light and mood stay.

### Find one, remix it

Filter by All, Looks or Ads, or search by text, by image or by color. The Start from a product row shows ideas that suit a saved product; Request an idea tells us what's missing.

On a photo or look, click **Swap in your product**. On an ad, click **Make this ad yours** and the Agent asks what to change: the text, the product, the person or the style. Remixes use credits like any generation. Ideas are royalty-free for commercial use; what you add (product, text, logo) is your responsibility. The step-by-step is in [Start from an idea](https://kive.ai/docs/discover-inspiration/start-from-an-idea), and [recreating an ad with your own product](/learn/recreate-ad-with-your-own-product) covers what to keep and replace. A new Agent chat also suggests Ideas for your product.

_The remix: black over-ear headphones on the same book and backdrop under the new headline QUIET, ON DEMAND_

### Browse before you sign up

[kive.ai/ideas](https://kive.ai/ideas) is public, organized by product category, such as [beauty](https://kive.ai/ideas/beauty) and [fashion](https://kive.ai/ideas/fashion), and by shot type. Our [product photography ideas](/learn/product-photography-ideas) roundup picks from them.

Skip Ideas if you work from a fixed shot list. An idea's composition is the point, and it will pull your image toward it; describe your setup to the Agent instead.

## Agent updates: edit the video you have, confirm before you spend

The Agent now edits video without regenerating it, and asks before it spends.

### Cut, join and retime video at 0 credits

Ask for a trim, a join, an inserted or reordered part, slow motion or a speed-up, a loop, a reversed part, a held frame or a still end card. The Agent edits the footage you have, so every frame stays exactly as it was, at **0 credits**. It can also watch a video and list its shots with exact cut points, on-screen text and speech, also free. [Planning product video scenes](/learn/ai-storyboard-product-video) shows where this fits.

**What cutting can't do**

A cut never changes what is inside a frame. A new background, a different product or text over moving footage still needs a regular video edit, which generates new footage.

### Products, characters, Shopify and memory

- **Your assets in edits:** image edits can place a saved product or character into an existing image. For one flaw in a good result, see [fixing an AI image without regenerating](/learn/fix-ai-image-without-regenerating).
- **Looks first:** pick one or several looks and press Use selected before anything runs; the confirmation card stops image calls your balance can't cover.
- **Shopify:** with your store connected ([setup](https://kive.ai/docs/integrations/shopify)), the Agent adds a Kive image to a product's media gallery, only when you ask and after you approve. It lands after the existing photos, at 0 credits, and nothing else on the product changes.
- **Memory:** the Agent remembers the looks you pick, products you import, Ideas you use and your taste.

## How Kive works now, and what it costs

Whichever way you start, the work runs in one [Agent chat](https://kive.ai/docs/creating-with-ai/chat-mode) in three steps.

**Add your product**

Upload one to four photos of the item, import it from Shopify, or add a photo while you remix.

**Name the job or pick a starting point**

Describe the deliverable and the agent picks a Skill, or remix an idea.

**Approve, then refine in the same chat**

Confirm the plan or looks, then ask for fixes, formats or cuts as follow-ups.

| Plan | Price | Credits | Included | After credits run out |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Free | $0 | 40, on email verification | Browsing, 5 boards | One free image every 30 minutes |
| Basic | $40/mo, or $30/mo billed yearly | 2,000 a month | 3 users, image and video generation, editing | One free image every 30 minutes |
| Pro | From $100/mo, or $75/mo billed yearly | 5,000–40,000 a month | Unlimited AI products, 10 users | One free image every 20 minutes |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom limits, dedicated support | One free image every 20 minutes |

1,000 credits buys about 100 image generations, 40 default-duration videos or 100 upscales, and unused credits roll over up to twice your monthly limit ([plans and credits](https://kive.ai/docs/account-workspace-settings/plans-and-credits)). If you already use Kive, Skills and video cuts run in the Agent you have and Ideas is your workspace home page, all on the same credits and with the products, characters and Studios already in your workspace.

Kive is not the cheapest way to run one-off image experiments. Failed and content-filtered generations are refunded automatically; a result that simply misses the brief is not, so budget a few tries per image you keep.

Judge this release on a job you have this week – a listing set, a Meta package, a 15-second launch video – by running the matching Skill on its public page before you sign up.

When a result is wrong in one place, ask for that place to be fixed. When a video runs long, ask for a cut. Neither should send you back to the start.

## FAQ

### What are Kive Skills?

Skills are ready-made workflows the Kive agent runs for one specific job, from marketplace listing sets to localized ads. You describe the job and the agent picks the Skill. Nine are public, including Marketplace Listing, Ad Creative, Meta Ad Formats, Plan Video Scenes and Inspect & Fix, and one Skill can hand off to another.

### Do Kive Skills cost extra?

No. Skills have no separate price. You pay credits only for the images and videos a Skill generates, the same as any other generation in Kive. As a guide, 1,000 credits covers about 100 image generations or 40 default-duration videos, and the Basic plan includes 2,000 credits a month for $40.

### Can I try a Kive Skill without an account?

Yes. The Skill pages at kive.ai/skills run a free image demo of the agent with no account. You get two runs a day across all Skills, not two per Skill, and can refine a result before signing up. Sign up to keep the results and continue in your own workspace with your saved products.

### What is an Idea in Kive?

An Idea is a ready-made product photo, look or ad in the feed on your workspace home page. You pick one, add your product, and the Agent recreates the image with it, keeping the composition, framing, light and mood. Ideas are royalty-free for commercial use, and remixes use credits like any other generation.

### Does cutting a video in Kive cost credits?

No. Trims, cuts, joins, inserts, speed changes, loops, reversed parts, held frames and still end cards cost 0 credits, because the Agent edits the existing footage instead of generating a new video. Changes inside the frames, such as a new background or a different product, still need a regular video edit.

### Can the Kive Agent add images to my Shopify store?

Yes, when you ask. The Agent adds a Kive image to a Shopify product's media gallery after showing an approval card with Add to Shopify or Skip. The image goes after the product's existing photos and nothing else on the product changes. Your store has to be connected through the Kive Shopify app first.
